Siguiendo con la onda electrónica australiana de Empire Of The Sun, les quiero presentar otro trío australiano (Australia Rules!), Cut Copy. Señores que música tan pero tan buena. Si no te gustan de verdad tienes un problema. Y como he dicho muchas veces si no fuese por VH1, bueno, a este blog le haría falta artistas porque los descubrí fue precisamente viendo VH1 una buena tardecita de algún día de la semana hace como 2 años, pero aún así creo que hay mucha gente que no los ha escuchado o no los conocen todavía, o por lo menos yo no he conocido a alguien que sepa quiénes son. Por eso lo comparto con ustedes, esto es un manjar de los dioses oyeron?

Cut Copy is a synthpop band from Melbourne, Australia. Their sound, often labeled as electropop, draws considerable influence from 80s new wave, synth-pop and post-punk genres. Cut Copy is managed by Punkdafunk, and is signed to the record label Modular Recordings. In 2005, the band toured internationally for the first time, visiting London, New York City and Los Angeles. They have toured with international acts Franz Ferdinand, The Presets, Junior Senior, Bloc Party, and Mylo amongst others; in December 2007, the band toured Australia with Daft Punk on the Nevereverland tour, the Sydney leg of which attracted a crowd of almost 50,000. In 2008, "Lights and Music" was featured in FIFA 09. The band is currently working on their third album, due in January 2011.

Viva el Empire Of The Sun.

La televisión de ahora es fatal. Pero siempre tenemos esos canales que son como salvavidas. Bueno para mí uno de esos es E! y en realidad solo lo veo cuando pasan E! News o Keeping Up With The Kardashians (placer culposo!). Pero debo admitir que la mayoría de las veces ponen videos de música muy buena. Y TAH-DAH! Un día pusieron un video de Empire Of The Sun. No encontré NADA pero absolutamente NADA que no me gustara de la canción. Simplemente era perfecta, exactamente la música que me encanta y que había estado esperando. Es música eléctronica pero no es el tipo de electrónica al que estamos acostumbrados. Ellos me parece que lo llevaron un poquito más hacia el lado relajado e inexplorado de la música electrónica. Y además la voz del vocalista es muy particular, creo que eso le da el toque de genialidad. Así que disfruten...

Boyce Avenue.

Bueno, a ellos si los encontré por youtube. Resulta ser que hubo un tiempo en el que cualquier canción que yo buscaba al lado en la barra lateral de youtube me salía un cover de la misma canción por un grupo que se llama Boyce Avenue. Hasta que al fin, me mató la curiosidad y escuché los covers. Resulta ser que ellos más o menos se dieron a conocer precisamente por hacer covers muy buenos de excelentes canciones. La voz de Alejandro, el vocalista, es bellísima. También tienen sus propias canciones que son bastante buenas, es el tipo de música que te relaja pero tampoco te aburre. Así que están recomendadísimos.

Boyce Avenue is an American rock band. It was formed in Sarasota, Florida by three brothers Alejandro, Daniel and Fabian Manzano. The band is named after a combination of two streets the brothers lived on as children. The band first came together in 2004 when Daniel moved back to Florida, after graduating Harvard law school, and joined his brothers Alejandro and Fabian, who were both attending classes at the University of Florida. In 2007, Boyce Avenue began posting videos on YouTube, both of original material and covers. These covers have been released in 3 EPs digitally via their independent record label, 3 Peace Records. Whilst producing the videos for Youtube, Boyce Avenue was continuing to create original material for a debut album entitled “All You’re Meant To Be”.

One Night Only. Yahoo vs. Google.

No es extraño que algunas personas prefieran Google sobre Yahoo! o viceversa, en mi caso siempre he preferido Yahoo! por muchas razones, pero entre ellas está que cuando te metes en la página principal siempre tienen noticias interesantes y a veces ponen noticias de música, y si te metes en Yahoo! Music también puedes encontrar cosas buenísisisisimas y hasta sesiones acústicas especiales de muchos artistas. Así que, Google se puede ir a morir porque Yahoo! es mil veces mejor, bueno por lo menos Yahoo! en inglés. En fin, un día me metí y conseguí una noticia que decía algo así como: Emma Watson en el vídeo musical de su novio. Bueno resulta ser que Emma Watson (Hermione en Harry Potter) es novia de un chamo inglés que tiene un grupo llamado One Night Only. Por supuesto, me puse a ver el video y en realidad la canción es muuuuuy pegajosa, muy buenas letras, música y además un video excelente con Emma y su novio (quien es el vocalista del grupo). El video fue algo así como La Dama y El Vagabundo. Tienen que verlo para saber a lo que me refiero. By the way, nice catch Emma.

One Night Only are an English indie rock band from Helmsley, New Yorkshire formed in 2003. The name, One Night Only, came about when asked to play a gig. They did not have a name at the time and so came up with One Night Only, intending the title to, literally, last for only one night, however the name stuck to this day.

Kate Nash.

Se acuerdan de cuando MTV todavía era un canal de música decente? Cuando pasaban videos buenos a cada rato? Bueno, uno de esos videos era de Kate Nash. Yo creo que si Regina Spektor fuera británica el resultado sería Kate Nash. Sus canciones son demasiado divertidas y las letras son comiquísimas! Además tiene un cover de "Fluorescent Adolescent" que me terminó de enamorar. Haciendo este Post me entero de que ya tiene un álbum nuevo, pero igual voy a dejar el link para descargar los dos álbumes.

Florence + The Machine.

Cuando no tengo música nueva me meto en cualquier lugar para conseguirla, uno de los mejores lugares para hacer eso es www.buzznet.com . Siempre tienen artículos buenísimos sobre todo lo nuevo y lo bueno de la música. Así encontré a Florence + The Machine. En realidad ya los había escuchado antes pero no sabía que eran ellos. Bajé el Soundtrack de Jennifer's Body (amé la película) y una de las canciones que estaba era "Kiss With A Fist" pero el artista salía como Kate Nash y en verdad no sospeché nada porque la voz de Florence y Kate se parecen bastante. Fue después cuando bajé el cd de Flo que me di cuenta que la canción era de ellos y no de Kate Nash. La primera canción que escuché fue Rabbit Heart, me enamoré apenas lo escuché. Sus letras son excelentes y la música no se queda atrás. Moving on then...
